Sweet Coconut Balls

Hi dear friends I ‘m back after long.....half a week gap means certainly a long break for me. Things were such – first India won Cricket World Cup, then weekend, then Gudi Padwa holiday! So obviously I was quite busy in between all these happy moments. Love to have some sweet recipe for this joyful celebration. Coconut balls or coconut laddu is my all-time favourite. I learnt it from my elder sisters. So enjoy this sweet ball which instantly melts in the mouth.

Ingredients: 1 coconut finely grated, 2 tbsp ghee, 2 tbsp milk powder, and ½ cup powder sugar.

Method: Heat a pan, pour ghee. Fry the grated coconut till it’s slightly yellow (not dark brown). Add sugar, milk powder and mix well. Make small balls with both hands and place in a tray. You can eat hot or cold – either way it’s delicious. The milk powder keeps it softer. I don’t use any other aroma like cardamom, clove or dry fruits, because I like the natural taste of coconut. You can add it while frying.

  9. Hi Trisha, I use fresh coconut. U can use dry coconut as well but it has the oily smell which I don't like much!
