Bold And Beautiful: Keiko Fukuda Made A History At 98

My Body and Soul Column have never felt so strong; I love to introduce you to Keiko Fukuda. Read a story where neither age is a bar nor gender.

Dear Keiko recently became the first woman ever in history to become a 10th degree black belt in Judo. And what’s more impressive part of the fact is, she is 98-years-old. In a world dominated by men, Keiko Fukuda is the highest ranking woman in judo history - only three other people have ever achieved this level - and hence, not less than a true living legend. They were all men living in Japan. Keiko is also the last living student of Jigoro Kano who founded Judo in 1882. She still active; teaches classes to women and girls three times a week, and she often talks about the huge sacrifices she’s made throughout her lifetime as she worked towards this goal. Interesting! Praiseworthy! Know more about her life and work.
